“It’s really pretty easy, if you’ve never skied you could pick this up faster,†said Bill Pierce of Providence. “It’s like floating down the mountain.†Pierce took advantage of the free demo day with his 12-year-old son Scott, who road the kid-sized version of the new extreme snow sport toy.

Up-and-coming riders from across the globe descended upon Mt. Hood Meadows ski area in Oregon this past weekend as the third U.S. Snowboarding Revolution Tour took place featuring snowboardcross, halfpipe and slopestyle competitions.
Mt. Hood Meadows put on a great Revolution Tour event this weekend! The venues were once again outstanding and we saw some great riding from all of the athletes,” U.S. Snowboarding Program Manager Abbi Nyberg said. “It is good to see so many up and coming riders and some new faces on the podium.”

Christina Koutras of Canada glided across the ice in arabesques and lunges, graceful arms in birdlike flutters as she skated her way to gold in the 2009 Special Olympics World Winter Games.
Her fluid skating won over the crowd at Qwest Arena in Downtown Boise, drawing them to their feet for a standing ovation. In that moment, it was hard to imagine that Koutras, 16, almost didn’t make it to the Games at all.
“I’m happy, and it was incredible,” Koutras said. “I feel really, really good.”
