Lake Arbutus was filled with the sound of motors on Sunday, and the dust certainly was flying at Russell Park.  Ice dust, that is.

About 630 people came out to Hatfield on Feb. 8 to watch and participate in the sixth-annual ATV and motorcycle ice races, put on through the Hatfield ATV Riders club. A moderate winter day with temperatures around the freezing mark provided an enjoyable opportunity for those who attended.

The world’s fastest snowmobiles will be pitted head-to-head when the World Series Ice Drags hits the track at Gaylord Regional Airport this weekend. This is the second year for the event, promoted by the Central Ontario Snowmobile Drag Racing Association (COSDRA).

Officials are waiting until Thursday morning to decide whether to postpone the event due to weather. The races would be rescheduled for Feb. 27-March 1…. More info
