On a bluebird day up at Whistler the Family Tree snowboard crew is cruising the cat tracks and buttering up the sides. Unfortunately there is a family behind them, and the father (#1 Skier Dad) gets upset, gets violent, and the whole scene just goes way too far. What a mess
In the office yesterday, we were all sitting around discussing the world of snowboarding. We were analyzing the impact of Shaun White. When did snowboarding go from a rebellious, anti-skiing, pants around your ankles, backwards hat wearing activity to a reputable, well-respected sport? Perhaps it’s both now, and perhaps Shaun White is the reason why we no longer associate snowboarding with punk teenagers. What’s interesting is that while we were having this conversation, we came upon Ryan Sexton’s article in the Hofstra Chronicle Online. His article goes perfectly with what we were talking about. The show went on in the final day of competition at the Brits – despite the fact that the weather was about as bad as it could have been. Riders and spectators alike got involved, displaying a very British (ans slightly insane) disregard for the frankly god-awful conditions.
Jamie Nicholls won the men’s category, with Declan Power getting second and Chris Kightley third. In the women’s, Laura Berry beat Katie Omerod and Stef Nurding to tke the top spot on the podium. … Details & Pictures
