Danny MacAskill has had a phenomenal year. Exactly 12 months ago he was working fixing bikes at Macdonald Cycles in Edinburgh.
He posted a film of himself doing stunts on his bike on You Tube. Within weeks he became an internet sensation.
He said: “It’s pretty unbelievable, it’s been a crazy year.
“It’s been really hard to put it in perspective. I’ve had so many opportunities to do so many amazing things.”

The USA Cycling Professional Mountain Bike Gravity Tour (Pro GRT) kicked off on Sunday with NW Cup #2 on the trails at Dry Hill in Port Angeles, Wash.
Both the pro men’s and women’s fields were stacked with world-class talent as the weekend’s on-and-off rain made for a slick, fast course.
In the men’s event, Bryn Atkinson (Ferndale, Wash./Transition Racing) descended to the win with a time of 2:34.39 compared to the 2:35.20 posted by second place finisher Justin Leov (NZL/Trek World Racing).
In the women’s race, Tracy Moseley (GBR/Trek World Racing) clocked a 2:50.82 on the slippery course to beat out runner-up Rachel Atherton (GBR/Commencal) by three seconds.
