Throw a little grease on that bike chain and get ready to ride. Mountain bikers can look forward to a new trail at Mammoth Mountain this summer.
Mammoth has been beefing up their freeride trails over the past several summers, including the installation of a bike cross course on Broadway. The Twilight Zone, another new trail, gained a fast following of freeriders due to its wooden bridges, ramps, and berms. It drops on the bottom with a large jump line that uses snowmaking water pipes to keep sprinklers running to dampen the trail in order to maintain its shape.

Spanish freeride MTB wild-man Andreu Lacondeguy has returned to his homeland after successfully becoming the first mountain bike rider to dominate Cam White’s huge dirt-jump line in Canberra, Australia.
Lacondeguy, 22, and his brother Lluis, swapped the cold European winter for the balmy Australian summer during a four-week holiday Down Under, and took time out to hit the 2008 Dew Tour champion’s infamous dirt jump line that is widely regarded to be one of the world’s biggest trails.
“The line is just amazing!†Andreu says. “It’s probably the best spot ever, man. You are hitting those 10ft ramps so fast, and they send you very high. It’s just the best fun ever.â€
