This week I had the incredible opportunity to spend a few days mountain biking in east Texas with some of the most important people of my generation. One of these people was the 43rd President of the United States, George W. Bush. President Bush was hosting the Warrior 100k Mountain Bike ride at Lajitas Golf Resort near Big Bend National Park. The other VIPs were wounded warriors from OIF and OEF.

I know, I’m not a great mountain biker. I haven’t ridden a mountain bike since COLLEGE. Flame all you want, you’re wasting your time.
So I found an indoor mountain biking course a little north of Milwaukee. Apparently, it’s a satellite operation of one in Cleavland too. And for reasons I don’t 100% comprehend, they’re closing this weekend and reopening October. I don’ t get it.
So I decided to haul my old, broken self out there to try it out. Crash reel coming sooner or later, depending. Thankfully, they loan helmets, knee and elbow pads with paid admission. Or it’d hurt a LOT more
On April 30, San Francisco’s Justin Herman Plaza will serve as the setting for a collision of fixed gear biking and urban contemporary art, creating a visually exciting and awe-inspiring event called Red Bull Ride + Style. The event will feature riders facing off in both track and freestyle competitions, with the obstacles designed and decorated by local San Francisco artists.
