For 13 years, the Aptos mountain bike jump park boosted thrill-seeking teenagers into the air and helped forge the skills necessary for landing advanced jumps.
Under Tuesday’s foggy skies, a group of those teenagers watched as the Post Office Jump Park was torn down by a bulldozer.
Some young daredevils who spent almost all their afternoons behind the post office in Aptos Village went on to become professional bicycling athletes. Mountain Bike Action described the jumps as “iconic” and “arguably the best-known dirt jump spot in the country.” … More
