Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Planet Bike) won UCI Cyclo-cross World Cup #3, in Koksijde, Belgium on Saturday. The six-time USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Champion ran away with the third round win by more than two minutes over Dutch strongwomen Daphny van den Brand and Sanne van Paassen.
With the victory Compton moves into third in the overall world cup standings, behind only the pair of Dutchwomen she beat in Koksijde’s round three. Christine Vardaros (Sausalito, Calif./Baboco-Revor) was the only other American in the Nov. 27 elite women’s contest, finishing 31st …  Details

When I signed up for yesterday’s Boulder Cup cyclocross in the 35+ Cat 4 class, I had no idea what to expect. As a new CX racer, would I get my ass kicked, or would I kick ass and look like a sandbagger?
