After partnering with Giant one year ago, cyclocross racer Katie Compton has had one of her most successful seasons ever. Riding her Giant TCX Advanced SL, Compton climbed to the UCI No. 1 ranking with a handful of major wins in the U.S. and Europe. Louisville, Ky. (January 14, 2012) —Americans took five of six possible rainbow jerseys Saturday on the third day of racing at the 2012 UCI Masters Cyclo-cross World Championships.

The morning began with the women’s 30-34 race, where Rebecca Gross (Lakewood, Colo./Tough Girl) outrode Alyssa Severn (Madison, Wis./Cylocrossracing.com) for the gold. Andrea Wilson (Cordova, Tenn./Outdoors, Inc.) followed Severn to the line to score a bronze.

Jeremy Powers (Easthampton, Mass./Team Rapha-Focus) and Katie Compton (Colorado Springs, Colo./Rabobank-Giant) took home elite national titles as the 2012 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships concluded Sunday with thousands of fans watching live both in person and online. Collegiate national titles were also decided on the final day of competition; wrapping up five days of racing which saw more than 1,100 competitors and 5,000 spectators at Badger Prairie Park outside Madison, Wisc.

The 2012 USA Cycling Cyclo-cross National Championships on Friday crowned 10 more national champions on the third day of competition. Approximately 150 junior and 100 masters competitors contested the muddy 2.1-mile course in unseasonably warm temperatures in Badger Prairie Park outside Madison, Wisc.

The day’s racing opened and closed with the country’s best 30-and-overs squaring off, with junior competition between riders 10-18 filling the mild day in between.
