Part 3 of the GoPro POV Bike riding in NYC series featuring BMX riders Billy Perry, Anthony Panza, and Nick Jones. Weaving through heavy traffic, skitching trucks/cabs, riding trucks, hitting spots, chased by security, and a scenic tour of NYC are a few things featured in this video!
Filmed in Astoria (Queens), Roosevelt Island, Midtown Manhattan, Soho, Chelsea Piers, Brooklyn (Williamsburg) and Downtown Manhattan. Many traffic laws were broken during the filming of this video, please do not ride like this
WARNING, there is bad language used in this video! In the past year i have been lucky enough to see 12 different countries, climb to the top of mountains and swim to the bottom of the sea. I’ve broken 5 bones, snapped a ligament and ruptured 2 more. Spending 9 out of 12 months in casts or splints gave me a lot of time to think about whats important to me. Something that stood out was the people i surround myself with. The people i am drawn to tend to be non-conformist, do-or-die, risk takers. These people also tend to be happier. Are the crashes a result of mis-placed confidence or do they facilitate our desire to be the best we can be? I am honoured to know such brave and barmy people and be able to call them my friends. May we never forget that life begins at the edge of our comfort zones.
In the game of life, we face many trials and tribulations, some trivial but others dire. When things don’t go as planned, our characters are tested and true colors are revealed. For some, the slightest misjudgment could send them reeling end over end without any steady ground to land on. Others, more adept to misadventure, maintain a level head and improvise as a situation unfolds.
I can’t tell you where Rob DiQuattro falls on this spectrum nor can I describe to you the color of his soul. The fact is that he lost not only a friend, but a beacon of glimmering hope in a world dimmed by hatred and misappropriation. A loss such as this cuts deeply and takes much time to heal, unless you have a potion spell. Luckily Rob keeps a band of merrymen who are quick to reverse any dejection as soon as it rears its ugly head. Also, Super Nintendo.
