Here is the next video of our son Ryder Ray Anderson at 11 months old learning to water ski at Santa Barbara on the Gold Coast, Queensland.
13 time Australian Water ski champion Joel Wing invited us down to have Ryder ski behind his boat for the first time. With lots of practice on the land, shore, then beside the boat, we finally decided he was competent enough to go behind the boat. At the start of the video you can see his grandfather and uncle assisting him taking off and we were in the boat with Joel, his wife Suzie and Danny, a photographer from Waterski Magazine.
Ryder was equipped with a custom made wet suit and a secure life jacket. It seems like he was going fast, but his doing a speed of approximately 12 km per hour, which is a sufficient speed without going too fast or too slow then sinking. Ryder successfully water skied behind the boat while taking in the beautiful scenery! His happy face at the end is priceless!
