The Canadian Wakeboard Open is a big deal in the national wakeboard scene.
“It’s turned into something pretty big, the second biggest next to Wakestock,” said Mike Maynard, past provincial champion, of the event that will take place at Beavermead Park next weekend.
For wakeboarders entering the open it’s a welcome chance to meet other athletes and be exposed to potential sponsors.

Nearly 200 professional and amateur wake athletes from throughout six continents will be competing in Orlando this week, Aug. 19-22, at the Orlando Watersports Complex for the 17th annual ROCKSTAR WWA Wakeboard World Championships, presented by Supra.
