As the sport grows and expands it makes sense to bring slalom windsurf racing back to Bonaire. Bonaire is proud to welcome the IFCA slalom Pro Kids Junior Worlds and Youth and Masters World Championships. The event will be held on Sorobon Beach, Bonaire from 12th to 18th July 2009.  

The island is proud to add slalom racing to its annual event.

Bonaire offers perfect race conditions with water temperatures in the low 80’s.

About 38 windsurfers and six kitesurfers took full advantage of yesterday’s blustery Wellington morning for their annual “Harbour Blast” race around Matiu/Somes Island.

It was the first time in the history of the decades-old race that kitesurfers had taken part – though they had to start later than their water-bound colleagues for safety reasons.

Race officer Bob Zuur, of Wellington Windsurfing Association, said racers took off from Hikoikoi reserve in Petone about 11am and finished at Eastbourne some 25 minutes later…. Details

Emmanuel Rondón and Kirsty Jones have won the Master Of The Ocean 2009, a surf, windsurf and kiteboard triathlon competition held in Cabarete, on the north coast of the Dominican Republic.

Rondón got the best overall score and won it for the second consecutive year.

In each category, there were also winners. Winston Martinez was the best windsurfer, followed by Oscar de la Cruz, Nino Rodríguez and Samuel Pérez.
