sf-baydayThe San Francisco Bay will be made the focus of a mass congregation of Windsurfers this Saturday June 12th. 

Windsurfing Magazine has put the call out to the Bay Area’s windsurfing population and beyond to simultaneously rig up and go sailing across the bays popular windsurfing locations. Third Avenue, Foster City, Sherman Island, Candlestick, Treasure Island, Berkeley, Ocean Beach, Crissy Field, Larkspur, and North Gate make up the focus of the event so boaters should be aware that there will be a bit more traffic than normal across the San Francisco Bay.

The Maui Race Series by Starboard was a great success this Saturday with lots of new faces making our TRs look good on the course. We can’t say that Phil was dominating though because he was on the Big Island doing a half-Ironman and couldn’t be there to defend his titles. But regardless there were lots of good races in 18-20 knots of breeze and perfect angle for wind all through the course with full power available in all the jibes.

With early signals that racing would get underway bang on schedule, the majority of the sailors chose to hit the registration desk as soon as it opened.
