Kevin Stittle and David Hayes from Canada and Mariano Reutermann of Argentina leave from Thornbury cross Georgian bay around Christian Island and return to Collingwood. They do the whole trip in 3hrs 30 min with a stop for lunch on the island. They reach speeds of 44 km/hr and make the return cross in 50 mins. Two races were completed on the final day at the Martigues 2010 World Championships- one in the morning, and one in the afternoon.

To catch the forecast early morning breeze the racing started at 9.00 am – committing competitors , coaches and race crew to an early arrival at the race site.

Fortunately the wind lasted long enough to get in one race before dropping – as expected. There followed a tense wait on the beach for the afternoon thermal breeze to kick in – which would be the normal pattern at this time of year   …  Details

Beverly Gomez created history by capturing Jamaica’s first sailing medal at the Central American and Caribbean (CAC) Games after securing a bronze in the women’s windsurf in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico yesterday.
