Jason Polakow’s search for the perfect wave for windsurfing has just begun.
This time, he travels to Indonesia for a windsurf adventure like no other.
Jason’s true passion has always been chasing down some of the biggest waves and best surf conditions and he is the only wave-sailor to break away from full-time competition to challenge nature in its most extreme form. In February 2016 he became the first windsurfer to tackle the giant waves at Praia do Norte, near Nazaré, Portugal, saying: “This isn’t Maui, You don’t come out here for 20 fun waves. You come out and you feel good if you get one or two unbelievable rides.”
Day 4 and finally action for the Defi Wind Japan edition. Only one official Defi race with Alexandre Cousin taking the victory. The day did allow for several fun races with all types racing round the marathon slalom course. Current Slalom World Champ Pierre Mortefon dominated and showed he is still at the top of his game!!
Day 5 of the Defi Wind, Japan and the first day for the superstars to shine. Main challenge of the day to get all sailors to race around the big Island to the north of Miyako-jina. The conditions meant this turned into half the fleet opting for a traditional slalom fin setup and the other half on foils.
Japan – Day 6 – Taty Frans introduces the second day of superstar races, this time a mega long slalom course -Super hard conditions, strong winds and choppy water gave everyone an exciting race!
Japan – Final Day – The final day with two mega slalom races, both eventful with mr turtle playing it’s part. Pierre Mortefon hosts the day 7 episode and it’s a full on slalom show!!
