Robbie Douglas has claimed the 2012 North American Speed Sailing Project Invitational, at Martha’s Vineyard.
The kitesurfing speed event kicked off with 12 kiteboarders and one windsurfer. The initial wind speed reached 17-20 knots coming from 210 degrees.
With excellent water texture, competitors were quickly reaching speeds of over 35 knots and peaking over 41 knots.

And so the morning of day six at the 2012 AWT Maui Makani Classic commenced with the quarter finals of the women’s single elimination. The swell was fantastic, with more logo to mast high sets rolling in, super clean and consistent winds about 20 to 25 knots. The first heat saw Sarah Delaunay of New Caladonia pick off some of the biggest sets of the morning and edge ahead of Ingrid Larouche in second. Tiffany Ward suffered a sail-board separation and unfortunately, after some solid rides, she was stuck swimming by the rocks.

There was another incredible day of action at Ho’okipa Beach Park for day five of the AWT Maui Makani Classic! Yesterday saw a full round of Youth run and the start of the masters and amateurs. With sixty competitors in the amateurs and a full contingent in the Youth and Masters, the AWT team and judges had to get their skates on early to try hammer out as many heats as possible.
Great news for the non-pros in that the conditions were still firing, with some logo high sets and stronger, consistent winds to play with. This meant the guys and girls could all showcase their talents and prove that it’s not just the professionals who can have fun and make this beach look good  … Pictures and more

Pawel Tarnowski and Neomi Cohen have claimed the 2012 RS:X Youth World Windsurfing Championships, held in Penghu, Taiwan.
When he hit the water, Pawel Tarnowski was unconcerned that the wind was light and shifty. He knew that he just had to stay out of trouble and finish the medal race to make sure that his second RS:X Youth World Championships was in the bag.
