WHAT an event the 2013 Speed Challenge in Lüderitz has been! Sébastien Cattelan and Sophie Routaboul, the two organisers of this year’s amazing speed-sailing records factory in Lüderitz, delivered the 2013 edition of the Chris Benz World Record Race with 18 different nationalities competing, and producing better performances in lighter wind conditions.
The specially-constructed water channel used for this year’s event was further improved in length, width, and angle from previous years. In total, 36 records from 11 different nationalities were broken. During the first few weeks this year, greater speeds were achieved in less wind.
