With six races in the bag, all in light conditions, everyone is very pleased to be able to take a break during the lay day on Wednesday and gather themselves for the last three days of intense competition.
Shahar ZUBARI (ISR) is determined to take gold on his home waters. He is already a celebrity after winning the bronze medal in Beijing. Cameras are attracted to him like bees to honey so winning here will only add to his appeal. Mario Rodwald (GER, North) and Gisela Pulido (ESP, Airush) have won the first single elimination of the KPWT Freestyle at Sylt, Germany. After 9 hours of judging the finals were held in almost perfect conditions in front of the scenic Westerland Beach.
After the opening ceremony with a stylish flag parade the skippersmeeting were held and the first heats drawn. Due to the high number of entries some pre-qualification runs were necessary in the mens fleet before the start of the first round.
