Nuno Stru has conquered the Portuguese National Kitesurf Finals, in Guincho.

The best riders in Portugal congregated at Guincho beach in world class surfing conditions. Over three days they took on all conditions competing in conditions up to 40 knots with 2m+ waves.

A huge field of riders were supported by nearly as many sponsors, both from within and outside the industry; showing just what a great event can be put together when everyone co-operates with each other.

An event held in incredible scenic conditions came to an end yesterday, with Lake Silvaplan, the worlds highest kiteboarding spot, providing sufficient wind for all disciplines.

Snow covered mountains set the scenery for the fourth stop of the Kite Tour Europe in Switzerland, and the thermal winds did not fail to deliver.

The event kicked off on Friday July 2, and from noon on the wind built nicely from 14-19 knots. Enough to push through the complete single elimination and after a short break directly going into the doubles  …  Details

Building on a successful day 1 the second day of NOOD San Francisco was even better. With the fog bank fully pulled back behind the Golden Gate Bridge by the start of racing the weather was a good 5 degrees warmer while winds, although lighter than yesterday, continued in the 15-25mph range.

A merciful race committee moved the course up closer to the bridge after experiencing a wild and crazy day one blow fest down at Blossom Rock. A 1pm start and a shortened course also meant a more subdued day for the kiters and allowed for 3 races to be held.
