The weather here in St. Peter-Ording is always unpredictable. During this morning’s riders meeting the race director, Olaf Van Tol announced that he would not run the competition until the wind conditions picked up in strength. Organizers as well as crewmembers had extra time this morning to prepare and tie up loose ends.

Going into its 8th year World Champion Kristin Boese is set to hold her camp for female kiteboarders at Fischland/Darss in Germany from August 20 – 21, 2010. 

Kristin’s original idea behind organizing this annual event was to support females in the sport and to motivate them to compete in national and international competitions, which has proved very successful in Germany. The wind began to pick up in strength fairly early this morning, making it possible for an 11:30am start. The double eliminations resumed with women’s heat #15, Jalou Langeree (Naish, NED) against Ania Grzelinska (North, POL).

Grzelinska did not continue onto the following heat against Johara Sykes-Davies (Flexifoil, GRB) due to an injury she obtained in her previous heat. Sykes-Davies moves on to compete against Asia Litwin (Nobile, POL) but loses in a 3-0-judge decision. Litwin goes on to face Jo Wilson (Naish, GRB) in the semi final   …  Details

The double eliminations got underway on time this morning under grey skies, and gusty winds. The first heat of the day was between Moroccan riders Yassine Bouceta and Mustapha Habachi. Bouceta was disqualified due to a line entanglement with his opponent. Habachi moves on to the next round of heats against Serbian rider Boris Judin (Nobile, SER). Judin defeated Habachi in a 3-0-judge decision.

Dominican rider Ariel Corniel (Ozone, DOM) was on top of his game today, eliminating Judin but was then defeated by Australian rider Andy Yates (Slingshot, AUS). The wind was extremely gusty in the  …  Details
