San Francisco, USA – We first began covering ocean rowing at YachtPals because we ourselves found it an amazing endeavor. Most of us have pulled a few oars, often in spongy inflatables or tiny 8 foot tenders, and for the majority of mariners, the idea of going more than a few miles under this sort of power is daunting to say the least. The idea of crossing an ocean this way is, needless to say, unthinkable to most, and the fact that people do so willingly seems just slightly this side of completely insane. The Atlantic is enormous, the Indian gigantic, and the Pacific? Well, that’s just impossible… or at least it was … Details & Pictures

This video was done with a helmet cam, and it gives you the perspective of being in the cockpit of the 22″-wide sea kayak, as though you were catching the shark yourself.
