A “production-intent” Camaro ZL1 recently recorded a 7:41.27 lap at the Nurburgring’s Norschleife. That is nearly 40 seconds quicker than a Camaro SS tested at the legendary German track in 2009. Measuring 12.9 miles and including some 154 turns, the Nurburgring’s Nordschleife (“north loopâ€) is widely considered the world’s most-demanding course.

Nissan is building two Juke-R concept cars. The tiny rocketships will be comprised of the all-wheel-drive drive-train and 480 bhp 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine from the Nissan GT-R supercar wedged into Nissan’s diminutive crossover city car. The cars are being built by RML for Nissan Technical Centre for Europe (NTC-E) with a view to testing the “public’s reaction to a seriously sporty Juke.”
The performance of the tiny super-city car is not yet known, but given the horsepower and dimensions of the vehicle, it will no doubt be one of the fastest accelerating roadcars in existence  … Pictures and more
Hometown star Johnny O’Connell scored a pole-to-checkered flag victory in Friday’s Cadillac Road Atlanta Grand Prix in Flowery Branch, Ga., capping Team Cadillac’s successful road-racing return to the 2011 Pirelli World Challenge series.
O’Connell, driver of the No. 3 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe, led all 29 laps/73.66 miles from pole in the season-ender to claim his second victory while also locking up second place to Porsche’s Patrick Long in GT Series points. Meanwhile, teammate Andy Pilgrim overcame a slow start to finish third in his No. 8 CTS-V Coupe to give Team Cadillac its first double-podium in the series sanctioned by Sports Car Club of America Pro Racing.
