Alwin Springer has been at the forefront of Porsche motorsports for the better part of three decades, first as one of the co-founders of engine builder Andial and later as the head of Porsche Motorsports North America. He is in large part responsible for Porsche’s success in American racing during that time, and identifies a couple of significant cars in that era, the 962 prototype (LEFT) and the 996/997 GT cars.

The auto industry is a man’s world, one in which office chitchat is a constant, spirited discussion of cars, cars, some sports, and more cars, and Motor Trend would be no different — except that there is a handful of women on staff as well. Since not all vehicles that excite our male colleagues have the same effect on us, I polled my fellow females and compiled a list of the vehicles we find strikingly sexy, ranging from real-world practical cars to fantasy rides. While in the end, the guy behind the wheel is what ultimately attracts us, driving the right piece of hot metal definitely makes a guy even hotter.

Can’t afford a $100,000 plus NASCAR-sleek racing beast? No problem. The 24 Hour of LeMons races exist so broke racing enthusiasts—or those who enjoy poking a little fun—can get in on the action, if not the glory. The next competition, the Skankaway Anti-Toe-Fungal 500, will be held on Oct. 22 to Oct. 23, at Infineon Raceway,in Sonoma, Calif.

The Skankaway won’t be one of LeMon’s 24-hour endurance races. One race session will be held on each day of the event.
