Back in 2007, Dutch exotic car builder turned Formula 1 racing team manufacturer Spyker debuted its pre-production C8 Aileron to Geneva show-goers (shown below). After some development delays brought as a result of a lackluster F1 season and poor roadcar sales, Spyker has a final production model ready for release and has teased the long-wheelbase, aviation-inspired coupe ahead of its Geneva Motor Show world premiere. It’s poised as a true performance car, and if all goes as planned, will help boost the brand’s dwindling image and profits.

True to tradition, the C8 Aileron is a mid-engine sports car built upon an all-aluminum frame that utilizes aluminum body panels. Aeronautics and motorsport are two major inspirations, and the new car wears numerous jet-like turbine bits, scoops, louvers and spoilers. LED lights are positioned fore and aft, while “Rotorblade” 19-in. wheels set before AP Racing carbon ceramic stoppers culminate the exterior theme.

Porsche unveiled its production Cayenne Hybrid S way back in November 2007 at the Los Angeles Auto Show, but has been relatively quite on the subject ever since. But the German automaker has now broken the silence, giving us some new details of the more fuel-efficient ‘ute.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) said Saturday it has heard the concerns of the motorcycle and ATV industries and riders and is responding by taking action to meet their needs. The agency has decided that machines designated for youths ages 12 to 15 — formerly the Y12 category — are not prohibited under new lead content regulations and can be sold, an agency representative confirms with Dealernews.

“It’s time for everyone to be aware that those models for youths 12 to 15 are not deemed to be children’s products under the law,” said Scott Wolfson, a CPSC spokesman. “Those that are the old Y12 or any newer version of a model [for 12- to 15-year-olds] do not have to come off showroom floors and can be sold appropriately to young riders,” he says….  More info
