An EPSRC funded researcher, Dr Kerry Kirwan from the University of Warwick, lead a research team who designed the first sustainable racing car in the world, a Formula 3.

In a ScienceDaily report it states that the car is made from woven flax and recycled carbon fiber. The steering wheel is composed of recycled resin and carrot pulp. The race car runs on biofuel that is made from chocolate and animal fats….  Details
