They met, oddly enough, in Monte Carlo, and oddly enough, on the set of a music video. Dale Earnhardt Jr. and Danica Patrick, the most popular and marketable drivers in their respective racing disciplines, had never laid eyes on one another until hip-hop star Jay-Z brought them together in 2006 for the opening sequence of his Show Me What You Got video, a James Bond homage that features Earnhardt and Patrick racing sports cars in and around the Mediterranean principality.

One of the benefits of racing for The Racer’s Group in the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series is also getting to drive for the team in the Rolex 24. Former Sprint Cup champion Bobby Labonte will join the defending GT winning No. 67 TRG Porsche GT3 at the Rolex 24, co-driving with Andy Lally, Spencer Pumpelly and Tim George Jr.

GoDaddy.com confirmed that the company is taking Danica Patrick to the NASCAR Nationwide Series in 2010. The IndyCar Series star will drive the No. 7 GoDaddy.com Chevrolet in a partial Nationwide schedule next season, plus one ARCA Re/Max Series race. As long rumored, Patrick will drive for JR Motorsports, the team founded by Dale Earnhardt Jr, and Rick Hendrick, and now also co-owned by Kelley Earnhardt and Tony Eury Jr. The deal is through 2011 …  Details
