Scott Dixon turned in the fastest lap Sunday during the opening day of a two-day Indy Racing League test session at Barber Motorsports Park.

Dixon completed the 2.38-mile, 17-turn road course in 1:10.5005 for a lap speed of 117.445 mph.

“The team has done a great job,” said Dixon, the 2008 IRL champion and Indy 500 champ. “Both the cars definitely have speed.”
