Since Lotus won the world championship in 1978, Formula 1 has been dominated by four teams: McLaren, Williams, Ferrari or Benetton/Renault (Renault took over Benetton in 2002). These are the only teams to win the Constructor’s Title.

However, the dominance from these four teams looks very likely to end in 2009. Brawn GP and Red Bull have rocked F1 and have become the top two teams, while everyone else playing catch up.

So what are the main factors behind the pecking order being turned on its head?..  Details

Formula One’s fragile peace deal was thrown into doubt Wednesday when eight leading teams walked out of a meeting with the governing body after being told they had not been entered into the 2010 championship and would have no say on finalizing cost-cutting measures.

The Formula One Teams Association accused the FIA of putting “the future of Formula One in jeopardy” by reneging on a deal that saw them halt plans to form a breakaway series.

At a meeting of the World Motor Sport Council two weeks ago in Paris, the FIA backed down on plans to implement a voluntary budget cap that had angered FOTA.

He also became the “rookiest” driver to get a penalty in F1, being fined $1,000 a mere nine seconds into his career – after speeding in the pitlane. He then went on to become the sixth youngest driver to start a Grand Prix and the youngest driver to score points in a Grand Prix – both in the US GP when he substituted for the recuperating Robert Kubica who had a horrific accident at the previous Canadian GP…  Details

The 1997 world champion last raced in F1 in 2006, pulling out after 12 races following his exit from BMW Sauber.

The 38-year-old Villeneuve has attended recent events and spoken to team principals about the possibility of a seat.

“I’m a racing driver and I always will be,” Villeneuve told Autosprint. “That’s why I’m looking about myself for F1. Driving is the only thing that interests me, and all the mess that’s happened helps me.

“With the test ban, we experienced drivers are …  Details
