What makes for the best racing? What do people prefer? A Sunday afternoon or Saturday night watching the big boys of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series or a Saturday night at your favorite local paved or dirt 1/4-mile bullring?

Just to keep this from blooming into a wide open discussion, I am going to limit this to stock car, sprint cars and midgets for the most part. Obviously there are many out there that prefer NHRA, Formula One, Indy Car Racing etc.. Subaru Rally Team USA driver Travis Pastrana scored the first victory of the 2009 season with a decisive win at Sno*Drift in northern Michigan.

Pastrana and co-driver Christian Edstrom built a healthy lead from the start, ending Day 1 with a 52-second lead over challenger Tanner Foust. By the end of the contest, the duo had extended the gap to a minute and 49 seconds.

“It’s a great way to start the season, with points under my belt,” said Pastrana. “But every mailbox looked like a deer on that last stage.” …  More info
