TWO DAYS before Formula Drift Singapore last year, Jane Cheah gave birth to her first child, Johanna Ariff Johanis.

Her husband, Ariff Johanis Ahmad, was not by her side as he had left their home in Kuala Lumpur to take part in the inaugural Formula Drift championship here.

And to make this year even more special, Cheah, decided to team up with her husband for this weekend’s competition which has been renamed Formula Drift ProAm Series.

In their fifth return to represent the American pro drifting circuit, Formula D kicked its season off with the most unexpected results: the underdogs of the game knocking out prior champions before the Top 16 even got underway. THEY are charged with maintaining law and order on Singapore’s roads. So it will come as a surprise to many that the Traffic Police are the main sponsors for next month’s pro-am drift contest – an activity many associate with young daredevils.
