Round 2 of the 2012 Formula Drift Championship belongs to Justin Pawlak and the Falken Tire Ford Mustang. Pawlak won his second straight Formula D event and takes a 59 point lead in the championship after two rounds. Vaughn Gittin Jr. qualified second in the Monster Energy Falken Tire Ford Mustang but was eliminated in the Top 16 after contact with Daigo Saito
“This was my 2nd drift event. First one was about a month previous, car had a lot of issues. Including overheating like crazy.Â
I pulled the motor, rebuilt with cometic HG, Arp headstuds and new piston rings and bearings. Did all the bodywork and paint pretty much within 2 weeks.Â
The car a is a ka24de-t with a t25 Garrett turbo off of a sr20det, tuned with a safc II and a z32 maf. Stock suspension other then lowering coilover sleeves. Car is on 7psi of boost.”
