Drag racing legend Don Garlits is in town for this weekend’s NHRA Lucas Oil Drag Racing Series at Tulsa Raceway Park.
Garlits, 79, is known as the father of drag racing and in 2001 was voted the top driver for the sport’s first 50 years. During his career, he won 17 world championships and eight NHRA US Nationals titles.

Tony Schumacher extended his NHRA record for Top Fuel No. 1 qualifiers to 64 when he paced the field Saturday at the NHRA Summer Nationals at Heartland Park Topeka.
