8.27.2014 Hurricane Marie created epic breakers off the Pacific Coast. More specifically, at the wedge of Newport Beach with waves towering over 20 feet. Body boarders, surfers, and body surfing became a scene as thousands of spectators lined the beach.
The record for the most surfers riding a single surfboard is 47 people who simultaneously rode a scaled up surfboard measuring 12 m (39 ft 4 in) in length at Snapper Rocks, Queensland, Australia on 5 March 2005.
The giant surfboard carrying all the surfers was towed through the water and then once it had gathered enough momentum, was released from the tow ropes and the surfers surfed the board back into shore.
“The Winter Surf” is a film shot in South Korea in winter, 2014. It is directed, filmed and edited by a few dedicated surfers. This film’s vision is to showcase surfing in Korea.
The Winter Surf includes two parts. The first part captures the beauty of winter surf in Korea. The second part shows how fun winter surf can be, especially to those who have never surfed in cold conditions.
