The Land Of is an entirely independent production that follows a group of surfers on a journey through Thailand as they gain new perspectives on travel that extend far beyond simply riding waves.
In chapter two we follow Ed Worland, Jack Entwistle and Nick Riley to the region of Phuket, an area of Thailand known for its tourism and party scene. Days after arriving the boys find themselves assisting with the relief effort for Bangkok after severe floods hit the capital city. After scoring some fun waves they head north to remote communities where they partner with Waves For Water distributing clean water filters to remote communities. Nick sums up the experience best by saying “We saw a whole other side of Thailand that people don’t see”.
“En Route” with Torrey Meister is the second installment in the series. Follow Torrey’s path throughout the prestigious 2014 Pipeline Masters, an event he holds extremely close to his heart – and one he has not competed in for 3 years.
What started as true excitement for one of the biggest events of his life, quickly turned into immediate fear. The morning before the contest, Torrey took a gnarly spill during a practice surf, one serious enough to land him in an ambulance bound for the hospital. After multiple days in hospital care, the focus suddenly shifted from preparation and competition to recovery and redemption. This is where we discovered a story much more profound…
