In this first episode, Michel Bourez and Kai Lenny set the stage for the series and we’re introduced to Esteban, Valentin, and Dom (the stars of the show). The boys build their first surfboard and get a taste of one of Switzerland’s best rapid waves on the Reuss River in Bremgarten.

Landlocked is a web series about the trials and tribulations of being a surfer in Switzerland. The show stars two budding surfer-shapers, Valentin Milius and Esteban Caballero accompanied by their faithful gonzo photojournalist Dom Daher. This unlikely trio brings you along for the ride as they crisscross a unique surf nation in search of their own perfect wave. Along the way, they introduce you to the present-day movers and shakers, forefathers, and history of Swiss surfing with a little help from the voice of surfing Dave Mailman, who narrates their adventures.

Team France was crowned the Team Gold Medalist of the 2021 Surf City El Salvador ISA World Surfing Games on Sunday at the break of La Bocana.

Lead by an individual Gold Medal from Joan Duru and a Bronze Medal from Jeremy Flores, Team France surpassed the Silver Medal Team Japan in the final heat of the day to emerge victorious among the 51-nation field. It is France’s first Gold since they won and hosted the 2017 edition in Biarritz, France.

Australia’s Sally Fitzgibbons made history by becoming the first athlete to ever earn individual Gold three times in the World Surfing Games. Fitzgibbons first accomplished the feat in 2008 before earning her second Gold in 2018. 2021 marks her third Gold, which puts her in a category of her own and gives her a boost of momentum ahead of her Olympic debut.

There’s no sure thing in surfing, not even for Carissa Moore, a superstar at the peak of her career.

The four-time world champion raised the bar for elite women surfers so profoundly and quickly that she made her sport’s Hall of Fame in her early 20s. Still, she takes nothing for granted as she makes final preparations for the Olympics.
