A big and out of control swell hit the South Bay region of Los Angeles on November 4th, 2021. This swell was much bigger than forecasted but had horrible shape and a crazy thick fog layer filled the air.
The paddle out was a nightmare filled with 100 yards of soupy backwash and crazy set waves. Thanks for watching. I’m Brad Jacobson and I’ll see you on the beach.
Yes, we have gone a little Jaws-crazy this week. We covered November 2nd, opening day at Peahi, in Realtime, we posted four amazing rides from Albee, Billy, Francisco and Kai — plus one of the biggest successfully ridden bodysurfed waves of all time by Kalani Lattanzi. Can’t help ourselves, really — we just get so excited when the seasons change and the North Pacific starts cranking out big surf. And while it wasn’t historically gargantuan by Jaws’ standards, there were some historic rides that went down. Hit play above for a full highlight reel from the day.
Brother and sister Mason and Coco Ho share a surf session at one of their favorite spots close to home called Rocky Point. This took place on the first day back home from Europe. The swell produced some clean conditions and nice waves so they were able to go left and right.
