Surfing is new to China. Really new. With a population of 1.38 billion people, there are perhaps only 200 local surfers. But with over 9,000 miles of surfable coastline, something was bound to happen sooner or later. In China’s case, it was much later. “I started surfing at three in the afternoon on October 8th, 2008,” notes Pablo Huang, assistant coach of the Chinese National Surf Team. “All surfers know that the first time you stand up on a board and feel the water moving under your feet, it is a very special feeling. There was a group that learned to surf from an Australian coach in 1985, but after that, everybody gave up. It didn’t stick, so from 2007-2008, that was the official start of the growth of surfing in China.” … More

I think we all know why… But this two have a common taste for slabs, heavy and mutant waves. It was really easy choose the destination knowing this – Ireland. They saw a good swell coming to Ireland and decided to go. Searching for perfect waves on really cold water.
