Video Surfing – Life After Competitive Surfing is a bit greener – No electricity, well-pumped water, gardening, hand washing dishes and clothes, cooking on an open fire, hollow waves right out front. A lot of people ask me why I stopped competing. This is how i’d…

The Roxy ASP Women’s World Longboard Championships (WWLC) will start tomorrow Saturday, July 11, at the famous surf location of La Côte des Basques in Biarritz, the world’s best female longboarders getting their 2009 ASP Women’s World Longboard title quest underdway. The event, which is running its fourth consecutive edition in the Basque town, will get straight into business implementing a new competition format with direct elimination from Round 1.

If it works, “The Manta Ray” will be one of the oddest surf shapes of the last years.

Kelly Slater has been testing a wide variety of surf quiver for a long time…  Details & Pictures

That’s the kind of people I’m talking about and still, the same clockwork reaction.

But I’m not lying.

Sitting amid the fashionably bundled up on the patio of the popular Blue Bar and looking out over the pristine dunes and cliffs of the village of Porthtowan in Cornwall, you have to remind yourself that you’re in Britain…  Details
