SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA’S iconic Huntington Beach Pier is essentially a boardwalk peninsula, an ambling parade extending a third of a mile into the Pacific: fishermen, seal watchers, teenagers swinging shopping bags, retirees taking measure of a distant oil rig, boyfriends informing girlfriends they could totally dive into the water if they wanted to. Waitpinga Beach South Australia — Clean 1m (3feet) surf at Waitpinga Beach in the southern waters of South Australia as Australia’s top 20 year and under surfers completed rounds three and four of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Fantastic Noodles Pro Junior.

And for some of Southern California’s youngest surfers, the WSA Menehune Surf Fest held on July 12 in Huntington Beach provided the perfect opportunity to don their first contest singlet, paddle out and surf for points and glory. This summer’s event saw the largest field of entrants 8 years old and younger in the annual contest’s four-year history.Â
