Surfing is the mother and father of all wave sports. History tells us that the sport was observed and documented for the first time in the 18th century, between 1767 (Samuel Wallis) and 1769 (James Cook). The oldest form of wave riding was common in the ancient Polynesia culture. It is possible that surfing dates from way back in time. The sport gave birth to other wave and water sports.

Small surf and good vibes dominated another day of wave riding at the Supersurf ASP World Masters. The Arpoador peak, in Rio de Janeiro saw a strong Shaun Tomson dominating the opening heat of the morning: 15.90 out of a possible 20 was the best result of the day.

Two state champions were welcomed to team NSW as the business end of the competition took shape at South Boomerang beach, for the Hurley NSW Junior Surfing Titles presented by Vestal. Huey was listening after yesterdays drop in swell, the morning brought perfect 4 foot waves wrapping around the point just in time for the Finals of the Under 16 and Under 18 Boys, and welcomed the Girls divisions to the competition.
