With day 1 out of the way in clean 3 foot conditions yesterday, it was back at Town Beach today for more sunshine and perfect Longboard waves. The elder statesmen got round 2 underway and making his debut performance in the event was 83 year old Magoo in the over 65’s.

Waikiki — Honolulu’s Crystal Dzigas, 28, has taken first place in the ROXY Waikiki Classic, at Kuhio Beach, defeating reigning world #2 ranked longboard surfer Kelia Moniz (Hawaii), Natalie Smith (California), and ROXY pro surfer Vanina Walsh (Hawaii) respectively in the final. The ROXY Waikiki Classic is the third of seven Association of Surfing Professionals Women’s World Longboard Tour qualifier events that will determine the short list of women who will compete for the 2012 ASP World Longboard title in China, in November.
