Everyone knows that Evan Geiselman rips in small waves, period. But, there’s more to this young surfer than meets the eye as he shows his drive and determination to develop his skills in bigger, heavier waves in Dragon’s Frame of Mind- Paying Dues. The webisode is the third installment in a series of video stories highlighting Dragon’s world class athlete roster with the likes of Mick Fanning, Owen Wright, and Rob Machado.

In Frame of Mind- Paying Dues, Evan talks about his early years growing up in New Smyrna Beach, Florida and the drive he has always had to challenge himself in bigger waves. This year, he got to put it to the test as he surfed “some of the heaviest waves” of his life at Teahupoo and paid his dues, while getting some of the best barrels ever.

The icy waters of the Arctic would hardly be most people’s first choice for a day at the the beach.

But for these fearless surfers it provides the perfect destination for monster waves.

The daredevils braved the chilly conditions in the crystal clear water as they enjoyed the powerful swells off the Lofoten Islands, in Norway.

Surfers Dane Gudauskas, Alex Parker and Keith Malloy normally carve up the golden beaches of sunny California but made the trip to the Arctic, where temperatures as low as just 2-3C, after hearing about the smooth waves   …  Great Pictures, video and more

The Nike US Open of Surfing recommenced this morning with the ASP Top 17 battling it out in the final event of the 2012 ASP Women’s World Championship Tour season and a bevy of the world’s best male surfers fighting for ever-important qualification points at one of the season’s biggest ASP Prime events.

Carissa Moore (HAW), 19, former ASP Women’s World Champion (2011) and current ASP Women’s World No. 3, relied on committed power surfing through Huntington’s beachbreaks today to deliver the highest scores of women’s Round 1 competition.
