Round 1 and the opening two heats of Round 2 of the Billabong Pro Tahiti were completed today in shifting three-to-five foot (1 — 1.5 metre) waves at Teahupo’o and while the conditions didn’t exactly mirror last year’s “historic” offering, the infamous lefthander and the performances of the world’s best surfers delivered nonetheless.
