Coffs Harbour will play host to Surf Day with Pro Surfer Otis Carey. The free day – which is supported by the Surfing NSW Indigenous Surfing Program – will see former World Tour surfer Lee Winkler and professional surfer Otis Carey take Indigenous kids aged between seven and 17 surfing and educate them on ocean awareness.

Not many people in the world can tackle the giant waves off the coast of California on a surfboard, but how about tackling them on a set of water skis?

That’s exactly what pro surfer, skier and snowboarder Chuck Patterson accomplished in what is believed to be a first, water skiing freestyle.

Jake Sylvester and Ellie-Jean Coffey have taken out the men’s and women’s divisions of the Burton Toyota Pro Junior at Surfest, Newcastle, Australia today. The Finals of the 2013 Burton Toyota Pro Junior were held in two-to-three foot (1.5 meter) surf at Merewether Beach, Newcastle, the site that will play host to the ASP 6-Star Burton Toyota Pro and Hunter Ports Women’s Classic, starting tomorrow.

Surfing America took the Prime Series back to Upper Trestles for our 5th year last weekend. Every year the conditions and weather have been questionable up to the day of the event, but Uppers has never disappointed. This year was no different. A weather front blew through on Friday with horizontal rain and hail, but it all cleared up by Friday night. Competitors were greeted by waist to chest high plus lines pouring down the point.
