The Nixon Surf Challenge, presented by Monster Energy, Dragon and Reef, is preparing to return to the cold in less than 10 days when it heads to Iceland from May 13-19, 2013 for the 12th edition of this unique mobile surf event.
A bunch of Nixon team riders have already confirmed their attendance, psyched at the prospect of experiencing Iceland’s unique and mystical natural environment. Known as one of the most volcanically active locations in the world, Iceland’s hypnotically beautiful coastline is also home to incredible waves.

Hawaiian surfer Shane Dorian nabbed the prestigious Ride of the Year honor for the second time in his remarkable career at Friday’s Billabong XXL Big-Wave Awards show. The 40-year-old friend (and former rival) of Kelly Slater on the ASP World Tour (he was ranked as high as No. 4 in the world) has been a dominant force in the big-wave surfing community ever since retiring from full-time competition back in 2006.
