The State’s best longboarders have fought it out in the finals of the State titles for their chance to surf for Queensland at the Australian Titles in Port Macquarie later this year. Two young women in Rockport have set the standard for area surfers and are poised to go even further. Olive Smith, 14, and Aransas Blaha, 12, won state titles in the Texas Gulf Surfing Association championships May 18 at Isla Blanca Park near Port Isabel.
