It was the luck of the Irish that provided the rectangular-shaped natural pool with bright sunshine on both competition days and it was a Brit who accomplished a mission: settling old scores at the infamous ‘blowhole’ and by hitting the hardest dive in his programme for 8.5s. He was not only awarded the day’s highest score for a single dive (158.10pts) but was crowned the winner of the season’s third competition with a total of 488.40pts. Joining the 30-year-old on the podium was Steven LoBue (475.40pts), who jumped from the ‘lucky loser’ spot after three rounds into second place. The 2013 rookie of the year, 24-year-old Jonathan Paredes (475.20pts), leading the pack going into the final took the third place available on the podium, despite having the lowest Degree of Difficulty.
