When the cliff diving elite comes back to the 27m platform on Hell’s Gate at Possum Kingdom Lake, Texas, on May 29 and 30, it is a return to the venue where in 2014 the competition turned into a high-scoring shootout. And it was ‘brilliant Brit’ Gary Hunt who made his mark with the highest overall score in a single competition – will his winning streak continue on American soil? With Orlando Duque (COL), who performed a failed dive in Texas last year, and ‘miracle-man’ Steven LoBue (USA), who walked away from a platform hit in France with only a cut above his eye, two strong competitors come to Texas with added motivation. The USA’s Lone Star State also provides the first of three platforms for the 2015 Women’s World Series.
