Bike &#8211; Trip to the Sea Otter Classic"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9882\" title=\"img_0802-internet1\" src=\"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/\/2009\/04\/img_0802-internet1.jpg\" alt=\"img_0802-internet1\" width=\"448\" height=\"327\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_0802-internet1.jpg 448w, http:\/\/www.stokednews.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/04\/img_0802-internet1-150x109.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 448px) 100vw, 448px\" \/>Stoked News made the trip to Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California for the Sea Otter Classic this past weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 I went to cheer on friends racing in the mt. bike gravity events, relax and socialize.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">The weather at Sea Otter over the years has ranged from very nice California springtime weather, to cold, windy driving rain and everything in between.\u00c2\u00a0 The last few days in Monterey have been absolutely spectacular.\u00c2\u00a0 You could not have asked for anything better.\u00c2\u00a0 It was shorts, t-shirts and flip flops.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Sea Otter is the largest cycling\u00c2\u00a0event in North America and perhaps the world.\u00c2\u00a0 There were in excess of 10,000 entrants in the various races.\u00c2\u00a0 This is a fun event because there are no year-end championship points awarded and everyone can relax and have a good time.\u00c2\u00a0 The racing is serious, but no worry about points if you crash out.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Riders come from around the world, with a large number of Pro\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s flying in from the South African World Cup last weekend.\u00c2\u00a0 The competition was very tuff in the Men\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Pro ranks.\u00c2\u00a0 There were over 100 pro men trying to qualify for the 32 open spots in the Dual Slalom.\u00c2\u00a0\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">Rather than give you the actual results I suggest you visit the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.seaotterclassic.com\/raceresults\/index.cfm\/2009.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Sea Otter web site<\/a>.\u00c2\u00a0<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left; margin: 0in 0in 0pt;\">I want to give a special thanks to the crew from Mike\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bikes.\u00c2\u00a0 The hospitality of Brian, Eric and Drew of the San Rafael store helped made the weekend something special.\u00c2\u00a0 That and the keg Brian brought from Moylan\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Brewery in Novato.\u00c2\u00a0 I highly recommend you visit a Mike\u00e2\u20ac\u2122s Bikes store in Northern Calif. for your cycling needs\u00e2\u20ac\u00a6..
